The Great Smoky Mountains is the premier riding destination east of the Mississippi River. Mile high views, and long rides through river gorges are everyday activities in this rugged, mountain paradise.  Home to some of the most famous and challenging roads that you will find anywhere in the world.

Sunset Farm Cabins has easy on/off access from the Great Smoky Mountain Expressway. All parking spaces are on level ground and trailer parking is available. 

Blue Ridge Parkway- 469 Miles of winding roads (and no traffic stops) along the peaks of the Blue Ridge Mountains. From the Shenandoah National Park in Virginia to the Great Smoky Mountains of North Carolina, this is one of the longest scenic routes in the country. A great place to view the fauna of spring or the colors of fall. Regular pull offs and scenic overlooks make it easy to take enjoyable breaks while stretching your legs. The Southern Entrance is located just 10 minutes from Sunset Farm Cabins.

Tail of the Dragon - With 318 curves in 11 miles, the notorious switchbacks of the Tail of the Dragon make this the country's #1 Motorcylce and Sports Car road. This white-knuckle road is not for first time riders. Even the toughest bikes slow down and take this challenge with caution. Make sure to visit the famous Deal's Gap and get the T-Shirt to prove  you've tamed the Dragon! Located 1 hour West of Sunset Farm Cabins. //tailofthedragon.com/index.html

Cherohala Skyway- This 40+ mile route boasts some of the greatest views anywhere. With elevations as low as 900 feet and as high as 5,400 feet, be prepared for varying weather conditions. The Skyway starts near Robbinsville, North Carolina, approximately 1 hour West of Sunset Farm Cabins. //www.cherohala.org/ Smoky Mountain National Park- From Cherokee, North Carolina to Gatlinburg, Tenessee, US 441 through the park is one of the most beautiful and highly traveled National Park roads in the country. With uncounted miles of hiking trails and many sceic pull offs, this is a great way to see the First (and only Free!) National Park. Take a break at Clingman's Dome, the highest summit in the park at 6,643 feet. Moonshiner 28- 103 miles of prime mountain riding from Deals Gap, North Carolina (the end of the Tail of the Dragon) to Walhalla, South Carolina. This stretch of US 28 is infamous from the days of prohibition and outlaw Appalachian Moonshining. You can still find remnants of Southern hospitatlity and a slower pace of life in the quaint towns of Western North Carolina. This route is located only 15 minutes from Sunset Farm Cabins. //www.moonshiner28.com The Rattler - From Maggie Valley, North Carolina this intense 36-mile route ends in Hot Springs, North Carolina, which is just a short ride from the world-famous "Bobarosa Saloon" in Del Rio, Tenessee. A great spot on the French Broad River where you can meet other bikers and recharge with some food and cold drinks. The Rattler is located about 30 minutes East of Sunset Farm Cabins. //www.209therattler.com/ Be sure to consult maps carefully. Many of these routes can be traveld in combination with one another to create different length rides and loops.
